Generally braces are worn from 12 to 24 months, followed by a retention program. Treatment time usually proceeds on time if you follow instructions. Breaking and damaging appliances can increase the overall cost of treatment and extend your treatment time.

In some cases yes, orthodontic treatment can take longer in adults than in younger patients. The end result of treatment is still just as satisfying.

Yes, we do offer clear brackets. There are some advantages and disadvantages to clear brackets vs. standard metal brackets:
Clear brackets are harder to see,  therefore they are less obvious than metal braces.
Clear brackets are great for adults or for individuals who do not want the metal appearance.
Clear brackets are more expensive and are also more fragile than metal brackets.
Clear brackets in most cases require the use of clear "O-ties".  O-ties are little elastic fasteners that we use to keep your wire connected to your braces.
Clear or transparent  O-ties are more suspectible to staining than any other color tie.
Some foods and beverages can cause the "O-ties" to stain prematurely.  Any food or beverage with coloring or dyes in them are likely to stain your o-ties.  To keep your braces looking fresh and clean, you must brush and floss immediately after you eat.  Below are some examples of the type things that can cause staining.

Clear braces require a little more work, but many patients who have them think that it is well worth the extra effort.

Yes, we do offer gold braces.  Gold braces are for individuals who want a different look. Gold braces are more expensive than standard braces, and are "highly visible."  Treatment time is about the same as with standard appliances.

We offer special braces that are smaller than our regular braces, treatment time is usually reduced, and they generally require less visits to our office.

Speed braces are ideal for college students, people who must travel great distances and people who are always on the go.  Your adjustment appointments can generally be scheduled up to three months apart.  The cost of these braces is about about the same as our gold, and clear braces.

The actual cost will vary depending upon the phase and the severity of your problem. The milder your problem, the lower the cost.  We are willing to arrange payment schedules. Your dental insurance may cover all or part of your treatment.  What is very important to remember is that orthodontics is an investment in yourself.  Braces can help improve your looks, your dental health, your confidence and self-esteem.  Even though braces is a one time cost, your wonderful smile can last a lifetime.
